After days of heavy pollution post-Diwali, Delhi’s air quality improved slightly but remains in the ‘poor’ zone, with an overall AQI of 293 recorded at 5:30 am on Friday. This marks a small improvement from 325 on Thursday and 345 on Wednesday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
However, some hotspots like Anand Vihar and Akshardham continued to record ‘severe’ levels (AQI 403), highlighting the uneven impact of pollution across the National Capital Region.
AQI Across Categories
Good (0–50)
Satisfactory (51–100)
Moderate (101–200)
Poor (201–300) (Delhi today)
Very Poor (301–400)
Severe (401–500) (Anand Vihar, Akshardham)
Doctors have advised residents to limit outdoor activity, especially early mornings and late evenings when pollution levels peak. Those with respiratory conditions should wear N95 masks and use air purifiers indoors.
Weather Update
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi recorded 17.6°C early Friday. The day is expected to remain clear with light mist or haze in the morning, with temperatures ranging between 17°C and 33°C.
Health Tip
Keep windows closed during high-smog hours, hydrate well, and include antioxidant-rich foods like amla, turmeric, and green tea to help your body combat pollution.
