Sexual Harassment Allegations Surface Against Jana Sena MLA Arava Sridhar

Serious allegations of sexual harassment and exploitation have been levelled against Railway Koduru Jana Sena MLA and government whip Arava Sridhar by a woman who released a video statement online. As of now, no formal police complaint has been filed in connection with the allegations.
Allegations Detailed in Video Statement
In her video statement, which has gone viral on social media, the woman alleged that the MLA sexually exploited her for nearly one-and-a-half years. She claimed that Sridhar first contacted her through Facebook after becoming an MLA and later intimidated and coerced her into submitting to him.
The woman further alleged that the MLA sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions and forced her into a relationship by promising marriage. She stated that she became pregnant as a result and was later compelled to undergo an abortion against her will.
Claims of Threats and Intimidation
According to the woman, she was living separately from her husband at the time, and the MLA allegedly pressured her to seek a divorce. She also claimed that Sridhar issued severe threats, including threatening to kill her three-year-old son if she did not comply with his demands. She alleged that she was warned of serious consequences if she spoke out publicly.
Political Reaction and Social Media Response
Following the circulation of the video, the YSR Congress Party (YSRC) demanded the immediate arrest of the MLA and called for an independent inquiry into the matter. The party raised the issue on the social media platform X, intensifying political reactions.
Meanwhile, videos, photographs, WhatsApp chats, and reels purportedly linked to the allegations continue to circulate widely across social media platforms.
Current Status
As of now, Arava Sridhar has not publicly responded to the allegations, and there has been no confirmation of a police investigation.
